Predicting the Future is Hard.
Describing it shouldn't be.

English has two main ways to talk about the future: Will and Be Going To. They aren't random! Explore the data, logic, and nuances behind accurate future predictions. 🚀

1. The Concept Switchboard

Understanding the core DNA of each form. Click the tabs below to switch between the "Spontaneous" world of Will and the "Planned" world of Going To. This section breaks down the grammar into actionable profiles.

"I will do it!"

Core Vibe: Spontaneous, Determined, or Uncertain.
Think of "Will" as a decision made at the exact moment of speaking, or a prediction based purely on your own brain (beliefs/opinions).

  • Instant Rapid Decision: "The phone is ringing. I'll get it!" (You didn't plan this earlier).
  • Belief Opinion Prediction: "I think cars will fly in 2050." (No visible proof right now).
  • Social Offers & Promises: "I'll help you with that bag." / "I won't tell anyone."
Formula:
Subject + will + Verb (base)

✅ She will arrive soon.

❌ She will arrives soon. (No 's')

❌ She will to arrive soon. (No 'to')

"I am going to do it."

Core Vibe: Planned, Logical, Evident.
Use this when the plan exists before you speak, or when you can physically see what is about to happen.

  • Plan Prior Intention: "I bought tickets. I'm going to fly to Paris." (Decided yesterday).
  • Evidence Visual Prediction: "Look at those black clouds! It's going to rain." (You see the proof).
Formula:
Subj + be (am/is/are) + going to + Verb

✅ We are going to eat.

❌ We going to eat. (Forgot 'are')

💡 Tip: In fast speech, this sounds like "Gonna".
